Book of Reminiscence Design

חסד אמת אל יעזבך Let not kindness and generosity forsake thee. HFLA-SA Centennial Year 2024 חסד אמת אל יעזבך The Book of Reminiscences This book is a living history of Jewish people and life cycle events in the San Antonio area. It was designed for the Hebrew Free Loan Association of San Antonio by Trustee Abraham Seriff in 1937. Ever since, it has been an archive of the community story and a means of sustaining the association’s work. Pages in this book have been donated in honor of or in memory of loved ones and their contribution to the Jewish community for nearly a century. We find records of Bar and Bat Mitzvah, marriages, births, election to offices in various Jewish organizations well as other achievements. It has both a written and a photographic history. It is also a way of recognizing a person's accomplishments and good deeds. Many of us can look with pride upon the pages of our ancestors. They promised to make the books accessible to the community, first at Synagogue, then “on display at the new Jewish Campus.” Unfortunately, the physical size of the books, and the growing Jewish Community, made it impossible… UNTIL NOW! Thanks to new technology, the Books of our first hundred years can be found on our website. We are pleased to announce the Second Century Book of Reminiscence in time for our Centennial Celebration, marking 100 years of changing lives and building our community. Pages can be ordered through our website, HFLA-SA.ORG
